Referrals Information

Please do not phone us to chase your hospital appointment, if you have received referral paperwork from us – this paperwork states everything you need to know if you have not heard from them with an appointment.

If you have had a referral to the hospital and are chasing your first appointment, please call the booking office 0151 604 7501 to do so.

Here at the practice we DO NOT know what the waiting times are for each department. When we send the referral to the hospital we will either email or post a letter to you stating what date you should hope to hear by and what to do if you do not hear by this date. However, as we’re sure you can understand, each department is under a lot of pressure and so, may not always be able to give you an appointment by this date.

For referrals such as the following:

• social prescriber / health and wellbeing coach
• district nursing team
• weight management
• 0-19 team
• Mental health
• Ear irrigation

These referrals DO NOT go through to the booking office and they will not be able to help you with your appointment.
